Goats in Evergreen Cemetery Ravine - Coming in July!

Thank you to all who contributed to the “Goat Fund Me” campaign! The goats will begin munching through the Evergreen Cemetery Ravine in July just before the official wildfire season begins. We will post the goats’ arrival date on Nextdoor: Westlake Neighbors and the Highland Firewise website, https://highlandfirewise.org.

‘Block Lead’ Information Meeting | Sunday, July 11 | 10:30 AM-Noon | 256 Meadow Road , Santa Cruz

If you are interested in becoming a ‘Block Lead’ for your immediate block OR if you have an interest in learning to help your neighbors with wildfire safety and evacuation preparation, please come to the Block Lead Information Meeting on July 11. On June 2, 2021, Matt Abernathy from the Resources Conservation District of Santa Cruz County performed an in-depth examination of wildfire risk areas in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas of our neighborhood (see the attached report for more information).
